Head straight out from the ramp there. Go to 14-16 FOW and troll cranks in that depth range. Bandit 200's in Mad Cow, baby bass, and root beer have been the hot baits this week. Caught my limit out there in that bay on Monday in about six hours. 1.6-1.9 mph was the speed I was trolling.
If all you have is your big outboard, you'll probably be pushing 2.7 or more. Too fast for most crappie.

thanks agelessone for the info.We trolled around areas near the islands and landed 22 crappie, and numerous yella bellys and white bass.Had a great time with the family until..............Headed to the pooles knob ramp to unload our camping gear and someone had stolen the boat trailer right off the back of my truck.Had to boat over to fate sanders to rent a slip until I find a used boat trailer for 125 a week.Suspect some crackhead took it for scrap metal to buy some more drugs I have a 17.5ft 1986 1750v procraft . the boat isnt worth much or much to look at but any advice from u guys on places to look would be greatly appreciated.excuse me while i find sum bloodpressure meds, mix a drink or go shoot my firerarms or all of the above!!!

This is why I have locks on my trailer tongue and on the hitch pin. Some people cruise these lots, knowing you will be gone probably for hours, and their chances of being apprehended are slim to none. So they'll take trailers, break into cars where can see items of value inside.
It's a sad commentary on this type of people who do this. They have no moral compasses.

Man, that sucks.
Hmmm I have a lock on the trailer tongue but never thought about the hitch pin.
I also have a length of cable I use. I run it through the holes in the trailer wheel then around the axle and a big p lock. Some one might get it off the truck but will soon find out it doesn't roll well at all. I dont know how much damage it would do to the trailer but they aint going anywhere with it and if they do probably wont sell for a great deal.
Sorry about that loss, man that so sucks. Pox on them.

I just don't understand the mentality of someone thinking they can just cruise through a boat ramp and steal another person's belongings. Sorry to hear about that but unfortunately boat ramps are notorious for scumbags hanging around and things being stolen. I'd say keep an eye out on craigslist for it.

Contact local scrap yards and give them a heads up.
Off the top of my head:
Clark Iron in Murfreesboro
Lebanon Scrap Yard
Harris Scrap Metal in Lebanon
I want to say there is another in Murfreesboro and one in LaVergne.
Sorry man, thieves should get what they have coming.

Some one tried to get mine at Long Hunter Sunday morning. Came back about 8.30 am and the lock on the trailer was bent where I could barely get the lock off when I got it home and the rangers were all over that morning in golfs carts and cars. These people are freaking bold. I thought a crowded ramp would be ok. I think I my try the cable through the wheel also.

One year ago, someone tried to punch my passenger door lock. People on the bank fishing, and several vehicles in the parking lot, at Poole Knobs. My friend's dad was there also and they tried to get in his truck the same way. Mine was not to bad, new lock cylinder and had to bend back a piece. My friend's dad was out over 500 dollars. I don't use that ramp anymore. My truck was in the first parking space where my passenger door was facing the lake.
