It was a great day to be on the water with little to no wind. I fish just around the corner from lock three ramp. I started the day off at 5 AM at the mouth of the first cove from the ramp with a KVD 1.5 in 10' water. The fish were braking all around me but no takers. So I tried the KVD 1.0 and still no takers. So I tried a power worm in all black for an hour slowly working the bottom , shore line and trees. Still no luck so my last hope was a 6" black lizard by zoom and it was like someone turn a switch on. All the spots I just tried I hook up and some of the spots had three bass on them. After working that cove I kept working to the right and found bass on all points, trees, shady spots and drop offs. All of the bass were from 1/2lb to 2 lb. I caught around ten bass and lost around six so in all it was a lot of fun and I let all of them go for someone else to catch................woody

Nice, I always keep a pack of black Zoom Lizards in my worm binder.

Amazing, and frustrating, how picky they can be some days. No takers on a black worm but a black lizard and they're all over. Last Saturday I took the yak to Priest in search of hybrids, found a whole mess of them busing up bait all around me at about 4:15am but couldn't get a single one to bite. I'm hoping this Saturday I'll be a little luckier! Nice work!!

Jad2t,
Keep a rod rigged with a white 4" sluggo on a 1/4 oz jighead. If you can't get them to committ to take a lure on the surface, the sluggo will be a great follow up bait.
As for topwater lures, I'm a big fan of the jumpin' minnow in bone for cloudy days and black/silver when the sun is up.

I have pearl zoom mini flukes that I have a lot of faith in, basically the same as a 4" sluggo. I'll definitely have those with me.
