Does anyone know what's going on with the Cumberland? Here at Clarksville, the river is more fit for white water rafting than it is for fishing right now. The water is up and muddy, trees floating everywhere and the current is moving right along.

All the rain is bringing the reservoirs over summer pool, so they are generating a lot of water to keep them down. That and probably slightly scared from the 2010 flood. Not letting the lakes get too high.

Nomad - Keep this link handy, there is a smart phone compatible link also - http://www.tva.com/river/lakeinfo/ Select your dam of choice and you will get historical and projected discharge rates. For you, select Cheatham and Old Hickory and you can see the volume of water headed your way. At OHD, 35,800 Cubic feet per second is a ton of water and at Cheatham 46,000 CFS is also huge.

Sounds like a typical day on the Cumberland. I fish it near Gallatin from the Cairo ramp. Not unusual to see it like that in the early spring especially during rainy months.
