Reel Tune
04-10-2013, 12:02 PM
On Saturday June 29th we will have the Fishing TN Gathering, at Sanders Ferry Park, shelter #6 in Hendersonville starting at 10/10:30am, and lasting until everyone is sick and tired of everyone else's lies, errr uh I mean fishing stories.
This is just going to be a get together of like-minded people who have the same interests of fishing, fellowship, and fishy stories, even if you don’t fish and would like to meet some people and ask questions come on out, but sorry for the disappointment guys no tournament this year. The only requirement is just to be a member of the Fishing TN family, you don’t even have to contribute, just have a registered username, children, and partners of members need not apply. You don’t even have to agree with members who think drum are a game fish, or don’t believe in catch and release.
I need volunteers for food, drinks, and food preparation. This will be an all-day event from around 1100am-whenever. If you would like to bring games like horse shoes, corn hole, or washers feel free to, but neither FishingTN, nor any of its affiliates will be responsible for any injuries you may incur, so please stretch properly. This will be a family friendly gathering and all of the Fishing TN community is welcome no matter your age, race, gender, or fishing style.
Still needing an attendance list.
An attendance list will be the second post of this thread, and will be updated with who is bringing what. If you would like to bring something post it up, I don’t expect everyone to bring enough of one thing to supply 30 people unless you are bringing cups, paper plates, plastic ware, or something that is fairly inexpensive like that, I don’t expect anyone to bring 30 Prime Ribs though it would be nice.

Sounds like a good option. I'm not a resident so shelter rental would be $55 for the day, it's $40 for resident.
Reservations need to be made as soon as possible, if it will be held here.

No date has been set but I did delete July 6th due to Holiday weekend and many may be traveling so it's between June 29th and July 13th
No location has been set, but Sanders Ferry Park was suggested, but I'm not a resident.

Sounds like it will be fun times guys. I will be casting into the surf then on Orange Beach.
I fish out that park a lot and by mid-summer for you boat guys that are bringing it may be beneficial to call the Hendersonville Parks asking them the clean the courtesy docks. Some summers they tend to "forget" leaving the docks covered end to end in goose crap. I know that is minimal to the gathering but at least it may save a carpet cleaning.
If anyone wants to know some close by places to fish for yaks from there just give me a shout. Be for warned that you may have company if others ask as well but I don't mind.

I'm not going to task anyone with bringing anything, at least not at this point. Just pick something from the list and put your name down and I'll update the list. Heck you don't even have to choose from the list just put your name down with what you would like to bring and I'll put you down.
Thanks for the help everyone.

For those who want to try the SOS 2# test line if you bring a reel you can spool it up for free. I have a 20,000 yard spool and there will also be several filler spools given away as well as other Trout Magnet tackle. There will be something for all fishingtn.com members. Some of the products we will have to draw names for. I had requested tackle for a smaller number of people than I think is going to show up....my bad.

Me and the wife up at 6 AM, making potato salad and a fresh peach cobbler. Drinks have been on ice since 6PM yesterday so they will be ice cold. And Greasy, I'll wear shorts so when I try out your yak and roll it, I'll dry off quicker!

If you have lawn chairs please bring them. I will cut the first person who trys to commandeer mine. :) I put a smiley there but I'm serious.
I would like to go ahead and thank Agelessone and his wife for bringing the potato salad again. Last year that was a big hit.
Last year I believe the only thing forgotten was a spatula. I have one. I also have some trash bags to bring along with whatever cookies I get at the grocery store on the way.
I plan to come a little bit early and fish. If anyone ever wanted to try out a kayak mine will be there. If you want to try it out just ask. If you don't ask, again with the cuttin'.
We learn from experience ... I also am bringing tongs and spatula, charcoal, lighter fluid, lighter .... and other stuff ... And yes my chairs, ez-up, and table ... so come prepared .... <'TK>< ;)
