Went to JPP today, couldn't get there till about 11 am, caught 1 nice keeper crappie about 24 ft. deep right off the bat. That was it besides a couple of shorties for the rest of the day. I fished hard, too. But, thanks to a couple of super nice guys who gave me the 9 they caught, I came home with 10 really nice fish. Sure made my day. Thanks, fellows. You don't know how much I appreciated that. Back at the ramp, I think some guys were having a weigh-in for maybe a striper/hybrid little tourney? They had some Hawgs. I'd post a pic of the crappie, but I don't know how to transfer it from the phone. Cheers to all of you.

Yes, I had the same issues on Saturday. One measly crappie. Now Friday was a different story. I arrived about 9:30 am and from then till about 2pm caught probably 25 or so with a 12 keepers. All in about 4-7 foot of water on minnows. Water was 55 degrees where I was fishing. I think it still needs to warm up just a little more.

Same for me. I fished Jefferson springs. I installed my 798 si and moved my 597 to my trolling motor Friday night. I thought I'd be slaying em come Saturday. Boy was I wrong. I fished every depth, structure on the channel edges, structure on the bank, structure everywhere, bluffs, open water, etc. I threw everything in my arsenal and minners. I caught a dumb drum, 3 short crappie, bluegills, and a yellow stripe. I think I might be the guy who can only catch them in the spawn or at gsp or when I'm with my buddy who I would call mr. crappie if wally didn't already have that name. I got there around noon and fished til dark.
