Hi all,
Work has kept me too busy lately, but I took my little boy out fishing this Sunday afternoon on Old Hickory. We fished back up in the creek to stay out of the wind. There was still a shad kill going on in most of the areas we fished and the water temperature made it up to 57 degrees in the afternoon.
As a result of all the trout magnet talk, I finally got a nice light spinning setup over the winter and got a chance to try it out. The SOS 2lb test is really sweet and I was very impressed. Casts and handles great and did not break easily.
I used the light brown colored TM (it looks like a mealworm) and caught plenty of sunfish, yellow bass, a few white bass and crappie, and one largemouth. Great fun on the light tackle.
My son reeled a bunch in and enjoyed it, but then went back to playing with his batman toys in the bottom of the boat. At one point as I was proudly showing him another trout magnet catch, he said "Daddy, it is just another sunny. Why can't you catch any bass?" Then he made me change the lure on his little pole to a big soft plastic swimbait so that he could show me how to catch a big fish :D Before he could get to fishing, he found my colored Mark-it pens and proceeded to color all my shad colored swimbaits bright yellow and orange. He was very proud of his paint job and brought them home to momma as a present.
Another fun fishing trip memory, but no hero pics of big bass to complete with everyone else's posts. ;)
Life sure it good,
Jim
