My old prop looks like Jaws took a bite out of it. Ordered a new one from iboats and it arrived today. Here's where my questions lie.
1. Is there a spindle lock? - when I looked at pulling the cotter pin and castle nut, I couldn't figure out how to get the spindle to lock so that I could remove it. I know there is one on things like mowers, etc, so I figure there is one for on here.
2. The hub kit came with a prop nut spacer, but then it says insert an OEM spacer. This didn't come with the kit, thusly, can I use the one that is on the motor now?
3. Once this is put together, it says to "tighten the prop nut according to Engine Owner's Manual for proper prop. It torque and fit specifications." We'll, I bought the boat and motor used and it didn't come with said manual. Anyone know where I can find what torque it needs to be at?
I have a 1997 Johnson 40 hp.
Thanks everyone!
