Launched in the snow at dam. Began fishing right away but I could see gulls feeding at dam. Caught a big bow right off the bat , almost in front of ramp. Wasn't gonna be a bad day after that. Caught 3 more pretty nice browns and took out at noon. Only fished first three miles upstream. Put in at bettys and fished till 1630. Caught 3 decent browns and lost another nice one. I was pulling it into net and it rolled up line and got off. Saw a bald and a herd of turkeys at Bettys. Beautiful cold snowy day on the caney. God is great!!

As always you're slaughtering the trophy trout in there. Nice work man. I actually thought about going to fish below the dam today too but the weather changed my mind. I guess I should toughen up haha. I don't do too well in the cold, that south Florida blood is still in me.

Ok that proves it, old sailor was catching fish and the cows were eating all day. To the heck with a weather report, I need a bovine report. Great job as usual.

Harry ... Yep when I saw the squirrels , Ferrets, and wild life activity working ... the day was on for fishing !!! ... But Bovien activity was the best !! especially when I saw a week old Black Angus calif near the Waters edge and all of a sudden a large splash and swirl and the Calif was gone ... I knew my Trophy Striper was there !!! ... <'TK>< :)

I am right here! :D
Great day Sailor. I have seen more pics of big rainbows in the last 6 months from the Caney to really get the old think tank wondering (dreaming) of what it will be once the DAMN... Dam is finished.
Did notice the cows were out and about yesterday too both here as well as over by Cages Bend in those fields.

Damn! I've got no cows around to tell me when to go fishing! Guess I'll have to buy a couple and put them in the back yard......chickens too. It'll give da Snorkster somethin to chase around.

Looks like a lot of fun. I have got to try it sometime.
As a year-round fisherman i respect a fisherman that isnt afraid to get out in the cold to wet a line!
My largest trout ever is about 16". We just didnt have very large trout in GA. All little stockers. I would love to catch a big one!

Awsome fish Old Sailor, you Sir at the Trophy Trout man!!, I guess it pays off to be out there braving the cold, I think I need to do like Jimmy said and get over my farther south blood and just get out there it's just like duck hunting!!
hey Travis at least is not bovine scatology you were associated with!! haha!!
