Center Hill waterfall area question

Has anyone ever fished waterfall side of Dam during generation from canoe? I have floated the river from canoe/kayak many times during generation. But never fished the pond at this time. Was thinking of just staying close to bank and anchoring. Any major current breaks around this area?

Yes I have fished it in my kayak quite a bit.....and before that would rent a canoe to fish it. It is a great place and be prepared to catch anything. It saddens me deeply to think that could be taken away from us. There are some currents in there..but nothing dangerous. Just don't let your canoe get pulled into the sluice area. I have never failed to catch fish there...and usually a lot of them. It is fun to fish when they are not generating also....but when the generators are on it steps it up to a different level. I have also anchored out from the waterfall with no problems. Hope you have a ball.

1. Alphahawk says "nothing dangerous," but there is a backeddy current close to the sluice outflow that can pull you in quicker than you expect. Beware of it. It has destroyed more than one boat.

2. Enjoy fishing this area while you can, because the Corps of Engineers is going to cut off access in a month or two if they have their way.

I believe I covered about not getting close to the sluice and being pulled in. There is nothing dangerous about it....maybe I should've added use common sense.....but I did not want him to "not" fish it because some think it is dangerous. That is what this whole COE thing is all about. It is like going to the Grand Canyon....if you get too close to the edge....it is a long way to the bottom...but yet you can still pull over there and enjoy the beauty....but best be using common sense on how close to get. I leave rehab in about an hour. If I am able to do it before and 'if" the Corp closes access the Pond will be one of the first places I try to get the kayak into when able. Can't imagine never being able to fish that again from a kayak.

Well. Long story short.... I have 4 kids under 10 yrs of age. I forgot it was my girls turn to go with me. The boys love the Caney and she insist on Barton's Creek at OHL. So we went there instead and tore the gills up with the yellow TM about 18" down. I am looking at a 20' Supreme on Craigslist so I can bring more at one time.

Those Supremes are sweet rides. I have a Riverhawk right now but I would eventually love to get a Supreme. If you get it post some pics.
