As always good job. I am looking forward to the spring smallmouth bite this year up there. Hopefully I will get to make a few trip up there this spring.

Hopefully we'll get some rain this spring and not a repete of last year. Where do you fish out of when you're there?

Nice job man.
I can't promise anything yet but may finally be in a better spot to do that trip for dad I tried a couple years ago.
I'll hopefully be in touch in the next couple months. Still May be best if it works out?

I tried to get a walleye pattern on Dale Humble and failed... I'll be going to Lake Erie this spring to fill my freezer with some fresh 'eyes.

I normally fish out of Holly Creek and I fish around Kemper flats, Pine Island, and Roberts Hollow and fish the big underwater T coming into the channel out of Willow Grove. Sometimes I will venture up around Lillydale.

browntrout...when does the shallow water spring smallie bite kick off...regards... also, does that correspond with being able to catch trout in the lake at the same time? thanks!

Travis, sometime late April is good but for your best bet, I'd wait until May. My May books up quickly so.... June is also good, it's usually not too hot either.

BT, I love that part in the spring. It's great how many different conditions exist on Dale.

FW, I'd love to fish up there one day. The eyes are tough on Dale, I've been trolling it over twenty years and I still have a lot to learn.

Normally around the very end of March into April. Normally a good time of year is around the middle of April. We used to take a houseboat trip up there every year the middle of April and we would smallmouth fish during the day and trout fish at night. That trip was a blast. Non stop fishing.
That is also a good time for trout in the lake. You can usually catch them out in the mid section of the lake just trolling a mid range crank bait. One good bait that we used was a small rebel crawfish. Hope this helps.
