I think I will post my replies on here for everyone to share. For those who needs an email address for Bill Ketron; it is at the bottom of this letter.

Bill Ketron's reply,

And thank you Alan for taking the time to contact me about this issue. As
rules and regulations by our Federal and State government go up, it often seems
like our freedoms and the quality of our lives goes down. Angling is an age-old
tradition in our state and will always be an important part of our lives, being
that we have so many beautiful waterways in Tennessee. I will do my best to
support the protection of these waterways as well as our ability to fish on
public waters in Tennessee. Thank you for your time and your support.

Senator Bill Ketron
Republican Caucus Chairman

Some of my facebook friends, who aren't even fishermen, signed it. That's good to see. Government overreach is a problem even if it doesn't directly affect you.

I signed it, but I would add this warning...be careful you are not duped into "signing" some petitions that have nothing to do with the Army Corps issue. The site tried to get me to sign 3 additional petitions that had to do with various hyper-political issues.

This message is from Wade White who started the petition "U.S. Army Corps of Engineers: Stop the Restriction of Access to Public Waterways ," which you signed on Change.org.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Because we do not believe the Nashville District is forwarding information on the number of complaints we are receiving we have made the decision to ask everyone to call General Bosticks Office in Washington D.C. to file their concerns about these restrictions. Please forward this number to others and call anytime today or in next few days.

202-761-0001 This is General Bosticks Office. Be polite and voice your opposition!

The attached is an email from Judge White expressing our position and why we feel it is prudent to send a call his way.

Director Stockton, USACE Director of Civil Works

I am writing regarding the plans to permanently restrict the waters below 10 dams on the Cumberland. This is being planned from the Nashville Dirstrict, Lt Col. James Delapp.

We have had conversations with District Commander DeLapp but we have not been successful in convincing him of the enormity of the problems this barricade will cause for our citizens and our tourism industry. It also causes many safety issues for those fishing on the bank.

Our offices are being inundated with phone calls in opposition to this and we believe its prudent to turn these callers to General Bosticks office as many want to voice their opinion regarding these restrictions.

Feel free to contact me at your earliest convenience as I fully expect many to start calling the Generals office very soon.

I do ask for consideration to be heard. This move will be devastating to our local economy and we do not feel we have been brought into this process. Based on the Corps regulations that I have seen it appears normal operating procedure for the Corps to implement large scale operations such as this in a manner that involves local, state and federal agencies and the public. It is our opinion this was not done by Lt. Col. Delapp. The regulations call for input from all those who have significant interest. We have not found a Federal, State or Local agency that was contacted other than the KY Fish and Wildlife that opposes this move.

We currently have in place a plan that works for Barkley Dam. This complete restriction is not the answer. I look forward to hearing from you very soon. office 270-388-7311

I contacted General Bosticks office in Washington by phone at 202-761-0001. They noted the call and then directed me to call the Division office at 513-684-3002. They kindly noted the call and then directed that I call the Nashville District office and speak with Joanne Mann at 615-736-5601. I spoke with Ms. Mann and she noted the call but also asked that I and all concerned to please send an email for the record to: joanne.m.mann@usace.army.mil

I have sent the email as well. I would suggest that everyone call each of the numbers and email.

A bit off topic but the COE want to (re)build dams on the Harpeth

I saw that also, some say it's a way for the COE to justify their jobs, and try to get more money, and the COE says flood control. I'm leaning toward the 1st part.
