Generation schedule looks awesome tomorrow. Is anyone hitting the Caney tomorrow? I think my son and I are going to hang around Happy Hollow tomorrow. Anyone else be up there?

I'll be there in spirit while I finish up christmas shopping instead.

Last time I was up there a couple weekends ago the browns still seemed pretty lean. Hopefully they have fattened up by now.

Good luck!

We may very well be. If we do we'll put in at Gordonsville and hopefully we can motor up past the first bend then smooth sailing up the the highway bridge or more?. Last time there wasn't enough flow and it ate my prop! Don't really want to fish in the crowd at the steam plant!

To much generation for me. I only wade and know the places where I can catch large numbers and places to catch bigger fish.
Might go to the Elk to a spot we have to pay to park but the fish are bigger in this area. It is a good way from where they stock.
I wish I could take our good friend from Columbia.

My son and I went today and it was a beautiful day but the fishing was tuff to say the least. I caught these 2 browns but that was about it. My son did catch a few rainbows bumping the bottom. As ole sailor has stated the fish were real skinny. Still enjoyed my day out today.

Looks like a nice day out and better than standing in shopping lines or sitting in traffic.

You ever try jig-n-craws?

I could not get down past Happy today. There was so much debris (leaves, sticks, logs) floating in the water you couldn't fish. We tried to fish down at Haapy and every time you would cast you would hang up in it. I will most definetly give it a try. Will go back over the New Years break.

I have not. Have you had any luck with them? Google Zig Jig and tell me what you think. Watch this video as it will give you some info on them. I have been thinking about trying them on heavy water days.

Haven't heard of those but the look pretty good.

Not tried the jig-n-craw yet but there was a guy up there who uses them successfully on higher flows. The ones he said he uses are standard bass jigs but in olive or brown colors more earth tone. He uses a heavier weight or light depending on flow and trims the skirt to the end of the hook. The trailer is a typical craw style but he said don't leave it too long just a little past the skirts end so its compact. The way he said he fishes it is either down stream ahead of him towards the bank or just bouncing bottom. Used spinning rod and light line so its not totally like grabbing a bass rod then heading up there.

I don't remember who he was but it was a Happy ramp one time I was fishing up there. He was pretty confident in fishing that way and said he has caught several nice fish since most that eat it will be better ones. He never mentioned catching any rainbows though it was all browns or occasional walleye.
