Well, Agelesssone and I hit the Caney up around the pond area last night. We hit the water right at dusk and fished until about 8:45. We were targeting walleyes, we tossed about 15 different styles of cranks, plastics, jigs with minnows, and even freelined minnows. It resulted in a brook trout, 2 browns(one nice one pictured, 20-21?, didnt measure.) and a crappie. Unfortunately the walleyes didn't want to play last night. Maybe next time!

Sounds like a productive night even though the eyes didn't want to play.
How was launching/loading?

I'm probably headed up there tonight, just not sure which species I will target. Walleye are fun, but I don't know if I want to take my kayak.

So you finally decided to give those big ole gar a shot...huh.
That's really the only worthy game fish in there.

I have NEVER deliberately fished for gar, and whoever tells you otherwise is a big fat liar :)
I'll be chasing toothy fish, but they don't fight as hard as a gar (not that I would know).

Wife called and said the check engine light is on, on the car. Looks like I'll be getting the scan tool out, and seeing what's going on. Sorry Chris

When I was young we used to target them with bloody frayed nylon and specialty rigged Rappalas. We caugth some hawgs. They are a bear to handle. We fried them up once just to try something different...... only once.

They are fun to fight, landing one over 48" long when you are in a kayak without a net...not so much.
