I dont know how many of you saw this the other night on the news but this is just wrong on the part of the Corps. I have always been a big fan of the Corps and all that they do for sportsmen but they are just WRONG with this. Hopefully there will be a solution for Flippers!!!!

I saw this also ... I use to use the ramp way before flippers bought it back in the 60's ... And drank a lot of cokes in the old store with the owner Mr. Watson and his wife. They also lived in a small wood frame house painted white ...

I do know for a fact the corp owns 10 feet vertical of the normal water pool level (Max pool is elevation 450, normal EL 445, and min is 442) this is for Old Hickory Lake) .... Which would probably take the parking lot ... (what 10 foot vertical means is this ... If the lake water was up against a rock bluff and you measured 10 feet above the level at normal elevation ... the Corp would own that much rock ... Now in Flippers case He has a gradual slope down to the water line ... So you set a 10 foot pole at the water line ... shoot a transit line and where ever it levels is how much the corp owns ... it could be 10 feet from the the water or 100 yds ... everything depends on the slop... I have experience with this with property on the OH Lake ...

But what gets me is that if Flipper has been paying taxes for/on The Corp property for all these years ...He should get a big return or enough to off set the fees the Corp wants to charge him for rent now ...

Now what is strange is this ... I did not know the Corp/Flipper situation ... I assumed Flipper was leasing the easement from the corp like any other marine business on Corp lakes ... Example ... marinas ... they have to lease the property below the 10 vertical line ... If he wasn't He should have been... But this Fence idea is kind of like a threat/scare tactic that the Corp Nazies would pull ...

I think we need to reopen the flood case of 2010 when the Corp opened the gates at the OH Dam to save the High rent Districts of Hendersonville from flooding and sending the walls of water down a pipe line in to Metro Nashville/Davidson County which had no where to expand until it reached Nashville ... There was an investigation in to this but it kind of faded when the wheel started to get Greased !! ;) <'TK><:

This would really stink if they block off the store front, I'm in there buying a coke and a couple lures about once a week. The guys there assist in tournaments, even ones they don't host, all the time.

On a side note what was up with the tilapia they showed. We used to raise them in high school and I know they aren't native to TN, I actually didn't think they could survive our winters, have y'all ever caught any on OH?

That just isn't right. They approved the location on several different occasions so they should honor it or give more in any compromise made. What in the world are they going to do with that 10 feet of land?

What!! Flipper piss somebody off? He is too reserved and non opinionated. :)

Just kidding. Flipper is a great guy and it is a shame that the government has so much authority to ruin what a man has worked his lifetime for.
I recall the days when the rivers (mostly the Tennessee) had numerous boat docks and camps. Just hanging out there was fun.

Oh well. Get used to more government.
