Is that a weight just above your lure?

It looks like a Sampo snap swivel to me, shiny silver.

Yes that is a snap swivel, I had just changed baits from a Bandit med diver to this bait. Then caught three bass on three consecative casts!
I like the swivel to be able to keep fishing instead of tying. Although after catching this one I should have retied the swivel! lol

I want to correct the lenth of the Bass. I was under the impression that the gunnel to gunnel of my Kayak is 24 inches, it is in fact 21 inches!
So the Bass is 21 inches!!!

Nice! I was out there in my kayak too, but I left around 11 a.m. I only managed 3 fish, 2 of which were feisty white bass -- nothing like that hawg!

Good luck. Lake should be close to full pool.

I fished that area in my kayak on Saturday morning and again Saturday evening for an online kayak tournament. The bites were hard to come by but I did manage three largemouth with the largest one at 16.5". The prior weekend, I was out there Saturday morning during a couple of downpours and caught about 10 LMBs. I guess the sudden rise in the water last week moved the fish as the pattern I was using didn't work in the higher water.
By the way, that crankbait you have tied on there has been my go-to bait this summer. I find that color to even be effective in fairly clear water. Thanks for sharing the report. The online tournament ends this Saturday and I have to decide where I am going to fish next. I only have time for about 5 hours on Saturday morning and can't decide where I want to go.
