Took the kayak to Laurel Hill today. Concentrated only on catching big Gills..and was successful. Fished the points where they drop off to 30 feet of water. The big ones were not up close to the bank. Counted the Trout Magnet down to 25 feet and ever so slowly twitched it back to me. Takes quite a while for a Trout Magnet to drop 25 feet. It rained on me most of the day. I didn't care...I was having a ball. All of the fish are at 9 inches. On some the girth is quite large. I guess on about 4 fish they were approaching a pound. All the others were better than a half pound.....made some really nice filets. Going to try and hunt them again tomorrow.

That is a pretty mess of 'gills. You must be like me and can eat fish 4 days a week. That is the extent of my cholesterol plan anyway, seems to be working.

Thanks....if I or my family does not eat them they go to a Sr. Community Center here and they are cleaned and given to old folks who don't have a lot of money to buy meat. I give them big and or small.....but since they scale them and do not filet them I will usually keep the biggest Gills to filet. Hoping to get to Pickwick this week and bring them around 75 fish. With this rain the bite should be a little better down there.

That is very cool, never thought of that. I know they appreciate it. Keep up the good work.
