Center Hill bank fishing access

I'm headed to Cookeville again this weekend and since the Caney still looks like the Amazon river, I was going to try and find a good stretch of bank fishing access in Center Hill to kill a few hours. I've never actually fished that lake, I always just go down to the Caney. Can someone help me out? I did some research and it appears Edgar Evans State Park offers quite a bit of bank fishing access. I'm after white bass and maybe a smallie this weekend. I assume the water stays clear in that lake even after storms.

You have plenty of bank fishing spots on Center Hill. With the lake down you can walk a good bit close to any of the ramps. Hurricane ramp and Floating Mill have lots of spots to fish. As far as white bass you will not catch many if any. They do catch some way up river towards Rock Island still. We used to catch them years ago at night under the lights. I would try the suspended Jerk baits for the smallies and spots.

Ok I wasn't sure if the whites could be caught in the lake still or not. I'd really like to get a smallie, it's been a while since I caught one. Like I said, I don't know anything about bank fishing that lake, Ive never fished in it at all. Floating Mill and Hurricane are both less of a drive than Edgar Evins anyway so I'll definitly try it out tomorrow morning as long as it isn't storming.

I have not known of there being much of a population of White Bass on Center Hill in years. Since you will be close try below the dam...yes I know the water is high. Joel...at Big Rock Deli and Tackle store...had witnessed a big White Bass run on the river last Spring for the first time in many years. They may return this year also and now would be the time. Good luck.

Well I have a spot in the Calfkiller that I've done real well with the white bass, its shallow and I wade in it. I'm thinking it's probably murky from the storms so it may not be worth going to. I don't know much about what can be caught at what time in Center Hill because I've never fished it. I just wanted to give it a shot so... largemouth, smallmouth, spotted bass, crappie, whatever is there is what I'm going after! I plan to walk around at Floating Mill and Hurricane starting around 7am. Any tips?

I didn't do too bad especially for fishing from the bank. I started at Floating Mill early in the morning and noticed a lot of action in the shallow water. I got a nice smallie (attached) and then headed to Hurricane Marina where I got two nice largemouth on zoom flukes. Around 10 it really slowed down, didn't see anymore action in the shallow water and didn't catch anymore fish so I left. Looks like I got a couple new spots to fish early morning or evening.
