I took this off Doug Markham's web page (vernon Summerlin wrote). This is a great time to meet area fisherman and put a face with some we see on this website.

March 10th is a MUST day to shake off the winter blahs. You can do that by coming to the Fourth Annual Cabin Fever Fix at Murfreesboro Outdoors, 2204 NW Broad in Murfreesboro.
You’ll find excellent discounts all day: 20 percent off of everything except guns and ammo (special sales on some of those). Some examples: buy one Shimano rod made in 2011 and get one free - buy two Triple Rigs (Tennessee Rig) and get one free. There will be many other sale items you’d rather take a hook in your finger than miss.
The event runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. but the special discounts continue until the store closes at 6 p.m. While they last, eat free barbecue & jambalaya and complimentary soft drinks.
You can pick the brains of some exceptional outdoorsmen in an informal get together – talk fishing, turkey hunting, swap simple untruths and big ole whoppers. It’ll be fun even if you can’t believe half of it.
If you’re in the market for a boat, Nashville Marine will be showing off various models. Be there or be square!!!!

You better have your boots ready because those creek smallies will be coming alive soon if not already.

The smallies are always biting in the creeks just tougher in the winter. When the water stays above mid 50's they will move out of the wintering holes and be in the runs and flats more. They will really get active in the next week I believe. I have been crappie fishing mostly. My springtme favorite smallie run has not started some spots are showing up and occasional largemouth. I will be out hopefully later in the week if the creek does not rise with more rain on the way.
