Has anyone been to or used the new Stonewall access ramp?
Also does anybody know if they ever fixed the Betty's access ramp?

Is that the one right off the interstate, behind the rest stop? I've been there, back a few months ago.

The ramp is just before the Thayer Wilson Bridge (stonewall) on the right. I believe its just before the two house there on the right and it maybe off the road going to the old iron bridge not sure though.
I'd heard it was complete but never heard anyone using it. The ramp is in kinda good place if you ask me.

Do they have a way to get a boat in at this one RvierShoes?
Stonewall is: get off at Carthage/Gordonsville exit the turn right towards Gordonsville, go to intersection turn left, go mile or so to the "Y" at the RR tracks and take the left part of the "Y" and keep straight you'll cross the Caney at the Thayer Wilson Bridge. Its often called Stonewall too.

If you are talking about the new ramp that was built by TWRA with assistance from the town of Gordonsville yes you can put any boat in there you would like to. It is quite a nice ramp...plus I have caught a few nice Bows from the bank there....but even with no generation there is not much wading space...though there is some...as it has some deep holes there.

Thanks thats the info I was looking for. It's a good winter stretch to run from there up to Kirby. That take out will make it easier.

As you probably have guessed from the replies, no, that isn't Stonewall. The location you're referring to is just known as the rest area access. Up until this year you had to risk getting snapped at by the rest area personnel for parking there and using that spot...this year they created a parking area for people to use to fish that access point...haven't been there this year but that is what I've read.

Can you run a 16 ft fishing boat in any part of the caney near there?
During generation, yes. At low water, you'll hit gravel bars when you go upstream or downstream that you will probably have to drag across.
