A few seasons ago I picked up some Radar Traps and Speed Traps by Luhr Jensen and did really well with them. Over time I hung them in the trees and downfalls and in general beat them up pretty good. I didn't replace but always had the intention of doing so. I was wading the creeks a lot then and the canopy just seems to reach out a snatch them right out of the air.
Well I haven't been doing much wading since I sold the canoe and bought a boat and I picked up a few Speed traps to take along next week. As I un-packaged them I saw the "made in China" on the wrapper.

When I was reading the L/J web site there was no mention of where they were manufactured but they eluded to the testing in the Columbia River etc. I'm sure they have been made there (China) for a long time. Sad I'm just wondering now that I know that, will they catch fewer fish. I was so disappointed. Should it matter?

I just wish we could make stuff in the USA again. Want jobs? Lose the companies that job our products out. Create a product that we can sell here and forget this world wide economy crap. Buy American made products pay a little more and get over it.

Ill get off my soap. Just makes me mad. If they had come from Svedun would I be hollerin (probably not)

Tom: I'm sponsored by Rapala which own Luhr-Jensen-Storm-Blue Fox-Terminator-Trigger X-Vmc-Sufix-Williamson and 2 other soon to be announced lure companies. Luhr-Jensen has been made in China for a long time....All Rapala Branded Baits are made in Finland-but some are assembled in other countries.....It is almost to the point to where you have a hard time finding lure companies that are manufacturing and assembling here in U.S. other than local or regional baits.

As far as catching fish they are still just as productive as always.....Until (unless it is to late) we have representitives that understand what drives American business I don't think anything will change....And unless we speak up-and speak up and speak up they just won't pay much attention.....Rick McFerrin Tennessee Bass Guides .com
