First off big thanks to Alphahawk and troutman for their help getting me going in the right direction.

I had never tried out Trout Magnets before and gave them a try today for some bluegill. Me and my 1yr old have fished this place for an hour 4-5 times since last week. She mainly watches but hopefully it's getting that interest in fishing started. We have only managed 1-2 fish each trip. The fish can all see you for the most part and I had tried all that I carried with me. The only difference this trip was the Trout Magnet. Same conditions and same fish staring at me. Today we caught 15 bluegill and a few of them pretty nice ones.

Here are a couple pics attached. I am definitely all in on Trout Magnets now and I have't even tried them on trout yet.... can't wait.

Thanks again for your help guys. You have created another UL guy to elbow out of the way. :D

Went to Caney about year and half ago, wading, with one of the guys here in town that promotes the Trout Mag. and caught close to 100 fish before noon. About 40+ were trout and the rest red eye or goggle eye bass(think thats what they are called) about 3 to 5 inches long. After that trip I was sold. I also use it to catch skip jack for bait.

Good show Travis. Glad you find the lure to be productive. It really is a killer on Trout...Bluegill...and here is the best part...it is absolutely the best Small Mouth bait I have ever used. They go crazy over the thing. My son and I regularly catch Smallies in the 18 to 24 inch range. One of those Bluegills you are holding looks like a Copper Nose.

Went out again today with both little ones and caught about the same including one bass.

These things are like crack for bluegill. They gotta have it.

The fall rate and the fact that with the TM heads it will fall almost horizontally is what drives the fish crazy. They also make the Crappie Magnet which is just a larger version of the Trout Magnet. I start my Crappie fishing...from the bank mind you...on October 15th. From October 15th of 2010 through May 15th of this year I brought home over 900 Crappie from where I fish. Most of my fish that I do bring home go to the seniors in this area that do not have a lot of money to buy meat. I give them to a guy who serves in the community and he and several others will clean and distribute the fish. I say this just to let folks know there is no way I would bring home that many fish just for myself. I never keep any Small Mouth or Trout As I said fishing 2# test line with a leader is the secret for Trout. No leader is needed for other specie obviously. I am now using the new NanoFil line and you have to use a leader with it for any specie but let me tell you that you can cast a Trout Magnet for a mile with that stuff...or any other lure. It is expensive but to me well worth it. Since I am letting a bad back heal up I am a little long winded today. I catch a lot of fish but without the Trout Magnet and Crappie Magnet in my bag I would not have the catch rate that I do. I am enclosing a few pics of the Crappie Magnet and Trout Magnet catch this year. In the Crappie pics one stringer is a limit of 30. The stringer behind the car is only 21 fish...I had a 100 mile drive to get home or I would have stayed and caught the other 9. The stringer of 21 I weighed..it weighed 31 pounds. The pic of my son with the Small Mouth was only one of 22 we caught that day. All of them from 18 to 24 inches. We were so stressed out after catching them on that 2# test line that we quit fishing for Smallies and just wanted to relax and catch some Bluegill. It does get stressful hooking those things on 2# test line hoping you get the fish in and if you are the net man you have a huge responsibility. That is also stressful...I missed a fish my son had to the bank that would have gone 28 inches and I messed up with the net. It made me sick. I failed to tell you that if you are in Small Mouth territory get some "Purple Redemption" Trout Magnets. While the Smallies seem to really like the Black and or Black and Gold the purple is a killer color for them.

Very nice fish there Alphahawk. I can't wait to try them elsewhere.

I have a weekend trip to Obey and Dale Hollow for trout/smallies this month. Then next month will be on the Caney for at least one whole weekend plus scattered weekend night trips to Old Hickory mixed in between.

Will definitely be putting them to use on several species.

Which kit is better to order? Tout Original, Trout Neon or the Combo kit one box Crappie one box Trout. I imagine some colors will have to be bought and added to but for a starting supply which kit you think?
