Skinny Water of the Stones a first for me on the water

Today John and I got rained out from working on a roof,so of course we headed to the skinny water of the Stones River. We did catch 15 or 16 largemouth in the 10 to 12 inch range in the 2 hours we were there. We were on a steep mud bank fishing strainers and kept hearing what sounded like a baby goat We moved upstream 50 or so yards and John spotted the fawn. It had gotten stuck on an 8 ft steep bank and was perched on about a foot of clay that dropped of to 6 ft of water. So it was rescue time. I got out and grabbed limbs to get to the fawn. (poor thing was worn out) I grabbed her and she bleeted (I guess) and I heard the doe call back up on the bank. So I sat the fawn up on the bank but it could not climb. I climbed up a tree and made it to solid ground, carried the fawn 20 yards into a clearing and the doe was right there. She bolted to a tree line and I sat the fawn down. I pinched it on its back leg and it squalled or bleeted and headed right toward the mother. This is a first for me in all my days in the great outdoors. You never know what you may encounter on the river.

Everytime I go the Caney I carry a net , cutting pliers, thick gloves to save animals that have been hung up in mono Etc. hooked by lures etc .... Racoon's, birds etc ... Goooood Job !! <'TK>< :)
