Caught this 5lber yesterday at Watts Bar, thought it was a striper but thinking it may be hybrid, its longer and skinnier than any hybrids I ever caught

Yep, Striper, Some Rock Fish have broken lateral lines like a hybrid.. Hybrids have a large girth and are shorter... TK

Yep after talking to TWRA about all of the mix up with Lateral lines on these two species over the years when I was guiding ... The Biologist's said a lot of problems started at the hatcheries when they change the vats from hybrids to Rocks. sometimes the vats did not always get cleaned sufficiently.. I have caught 45 pound plus Stripers that were missing fins etc. and Lateral lines is the most common defect as per The Biologist . Also go to the TWRA website to give you more insight on this ...

Also click on the web address below and the 5th pic from the left this ia a 48 pounder with no pelvic fins ... This couple was on their honeymoon .....That's me and the bride and the big baby ... TK
