Fished Sunday morning. Boated 5 sauger all over 19in, lost a few big ones I never got eyes on. Biggest 4.15lb. All Caught in 24-32ft. Water temp 44-45.

I almost went but work has me wound up tight...nice Sauger...Man I sure miss them.

Man you did better than me. Boated only 4 with one nice keeper. And a snagged spoonbill on a jigging blade. Tons of gulls diving on all the dead shad. Im gonna use that as my excuse this week. Lol.
I can show a sauger my jig, but i cant make him eat it. Even IM not that good. Lol

How late in year you guys chase those tasty critters?Dont think I have gone latter than mid February. Have always heard they get better on into March but I’m normally chasing bass or crappie.

Yea the water is swift. Needed 1.25 jigs to stay vertical. I have seen some real nice sauger this year. Congrats to you.

Gonna need 5lbs of lead and an anchor the size of Dad's Buick for the foreseeable future.

That’s true.Saw lake Cumberland was 6’ high before all this rain. Going take long time getting all the water levels down. They have been pulling 90-95k today on old hickory. I have never seen those numbers. Normally 20-40k

For sure! I saw all my fishing plans for the foreseeable future wash away yesterday...It’s going take at least a week for the conditions to be right again.
