I fished Old Hickory with a buddy of mine , started at daylight out of Shutes Branch. We cruised over to Drakes Creek, water temperature was 56° when we left and bumped up to 61. The water was very stained almost muddy in some coves in Drake’s. We started with spinnerbait and frog within 30 minutes smack, my friend caught 5.2 on a frog. Then it was chattterbait catches the rest of the day and we mixed it up pretty well. Ended up with 3 fish in Drake’s and then we decided to fish some coves across from Shutes branch, the water here had great clarity. We ended up with 8 fish we did have five keepers but the keepers were 14–15 inch. We fished Very hard, fish were scattered we didn’t find a good pattern. Oh by the way Drakes has a bunch debris so be careful out there.
