Ever thought about side planers but we're put off by the high cost ($25.00+).

How about building your own for $5-$6?

(TK, if this is in the wrong place, I apologize. Afraid most guys won't read the sections below since there aren't usually a lot viewing)

Here is a photo of all parts required to build one and a finished product.

The "board" is .125 lexan (not plexiglass).
The dimensions are written on the board in another photo.

One piece of closed cell foam, 10"x1 1/2"x1 1/2". (Styrofoam will not work)

One tube of E6000 liquid rubber cement

One piece 1/4 20 all thread 5" long.

One 1/4 20 nylon lock nut

One 1/4 20 standard nut

Two 1/4" flat washers

Two #12 snaps and one #7 snap (or split rings can be used in place of the #12 snaps).

One line release (available on Ebay).

Hammer one end of the rod flat and drill a 1/16 hole in it for the split ring that will hold the line release.

Assemble everything as shown in the photos. I drill the extra holes in my "board" to make them ambidextrous, meaning I can switch out the release rod and lower clip to go from left to right or vice versa.

LOL, I may have left out a step or two, (Jack and Coke can make a man fumble, don'cha know?)
If so, ask away. These boards will perform as good as any you can buy and you get the satisfaction of having built them yourself.

And, no, I do not build any to sell!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171204/aba6d811db7eb654fee3ed876aa7fbf7.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171204/3aa3284075dad67027a68db9c9eb2c20.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171204/85f32fbd748fc6ebe9f09b3446069e74.jpg

These work great. My brother made some almost identical to these.

Awesome, these looks nice. Thanks for sharing! Just curious, where is the best/cheapest place you have found to buy lexan board from locally?
