Looking at these threads, I'll usually see 30-50 viewing.....but nobody posting.
Could this be why the guys that actually "fish" don't want to post too much?
Too many lurkers and not enough contributing any real information.

Could be, I know most people don't like posting info so randys can use it. I just don't get to fish that much anymore so I don't have much actual fishing info to post, I'm still good for a smart ass comment every now and again.

I’m guilty of lurking. Two kids playing just about every sport imaginable keep me from getting out. I like to visit the site and see how everyone else is doing.

Coupla fellas went to the steam plant yesterday, posted a picture of their catch on Facebook. Looked pretty sparce in the cooler, had about 8 tilapia and a red ear or two and one catfish.
Had thoughts of going there today but dental appt in the middle of the day ruined that idea.
Plus I have to finish tearing down and packing away a small (15 ft) swimming pool.
Giving it away to friends and going bigger next year.
Should have been a great day for hybrids on Priest.

I fish every weekend, sometimes a tournament both days, but unless you want info on how to give money away you don't want any of my info lately....
Haven't ventured out to the steamplant this year yet, I was fishing Friday and Saturday nights out by the barges just for fun but there at the last few trips the damn things were smoldering so bad I just gave up on it... Since picking up these tournaments at Center hill and Cordell Hull I haven't been back to see if it's been any better.

Well maybe, I haven't posted much after wanting to spend more time on this site because my rig has been in the shop and glass house for a month now.
And my wife fell and broke a couple vertebrae in her back. Between care giving and all my gear is in the boat . . .lurking is all I got. :)

So... Hyco Lake in North Carolina is smooth as glass, the weather is in the sixty's, I can see from the road guys fishing around the discharge canal like at GAF but no-one shows any fish caught. The park I'm at has one of the only ramps and it stays busy and has resident rangers to patrol so I feel good about that. The bait shop is way over priced, but ordered my dip brand when asked, and the restaurant has a nice chicken samich.

Yeah, I notice that too, I wonder if it isn't just "trolling bots" or whatever you call the hacking machines. Or, Hmm, maybe it is guys that catch lots of fish and don't tell secrets! For myself, I hardly ever get to fish much anymore, and when I do, i don't have much to report, unfortunately. I did go last Saturday below Cheatham, and got skunked. Fished about 3&1/2 hours- hung a big gar, had a couple of hits, which felt like sauger, but I dunno. Finally threw in the towel. I don't have the patience I used to.

I went fishing only about 7 times this year. Everything broke or needed to be built this year. Plus when I did get out my Mercury would do the engine alarm 6 beeps. Now I’ve got an app VesselView. It lets me know it’s just more wood from Old Hickory stuck in the stat. Pretty neat setup. What’s worse I put a 12” Solix on it and an Ulterra in the spring and used it very little. As soon as I put a few deer in the freezer I’m ready to get back to it. When I get on the page I enjoy seeing how much fun everybody else is having.

Man, I just don't enjoy hunting as much as you guys. All my friends stop fishing to kill deer, I would rather fish. I like eating them but damn I hate hunting. If I could just go out and kill I would be all for that.

I enjoy hunting, but I love fishing way more, and there’s always fish to be caught this time of the year!!!

I usually have my quota of the deer for the year before now but building this house has consumed my weekends. Not the building part, but fixing up our property and such. Ive got the rods all rigged for jigging and the boat set, just gotta get on the river.
And yes skillet, to comment on another thread of yours, i will put on my chefs hat for you and merv again this year and fire up the grill. Lol

Be prepared for many "bank reports", I know most guys here are boat or yak guys but just in case there are a few purist i will be posting..
Hoping for a brown this year and maybe a PB rainbow.
Also ready for some bank striper/hybrid/whites/.. anybody doing any of that fishing from the bank in Rutherford county I would love to tag along and learn more!

That's a mess of fish right there. I have never caught a trout in my life. I sure like eating them though. I've only tried to catch them one time. I almost caught one on a jig though in Old Hickory lake. I couldn't believe my eyes. But it was for sure some type of trout. Looked like a rainbow to me, but Im no expert in identifying them.

I took a buddy to the Steamplant yesterday caught 8 skippies a few bluegill and white bass and a nice eater size catfish but released him. Used skippies for any striper takers but no action, which I figured. Only 6 boats or so, I think everyone when last Friday after Thanksgiving. I was there early but when I backed off from the barrier I could see 20 boats at 8am. Tilapia are being caught but I haven’t seen a lot of size yet. Oh I caught everything on a trout magnet. Happy fishing!

Not really. If you are looking for something I can keep an eye out. We do have a bunch of H20 hard baits on clearance, 2.00 or so. If you are patient as Christmas gets here the clearance items will keep dropping.

Dakota, do you drive a black suv? Were you leaving Lowes in Mt Juliet today around 4? If so, I think we were both beside each other trying to pull out on Mt Juliet road. I was in a blue truck with a silver and black Ranger. Also, do you have a smallmouth bass liscence plate? That's what caught my eye and made me look to see who was driving.

I live in Bethpage but I did fish JPP today for about 3 hours. It was so windy that I couldn't keep my trolling motor in the water so I left early. My buddy that went with me has had 3 back surgeries I didn't want to run around the lake and cause him a lot of pain by bouncing around and I couldn't get out of the wind in Suggs Creek. I did manage to catch a few with one 3lber.
