My son and I put in at Drakes creek with the plan to take advantage of the clouds and fish top water. We also didn't think it would rain ALL day. Fished 5 hours throwing everything but the sink and only managed 2 short Bass, 2 Yellow bass, and one channel cat. Miserable day.

Sorry to hear but I appreciate the poor reports as well as the great ones. They'll pick up!

Tough day. What sort of water color/clarity and temp did you find? Last weekend, in the mornings, I was showing 69-70 in the mid-lake areas and clear water (for Old Hickory anyway). I'm thinking that in Drake's Creek particularly the incoming water would be dirty and the fish would be pulled tight to cover.

When I drove over the back of Drakes yesterday the water was very clean

First post, so whoopi! Anyway, I put in at Bluegrass Marina around 7am. Fished topwater (frog, buzzbait), and around slips with motoroil/olive worm. I managed to squeeze out 7 lrg mouth with the biggest at 2lbs. I just can't seem to catch any of any size. I fish out of a 10' Pond Prowler; love it!, but am restricted from running all over the lake like normal larger boats seeking out more favorable water. Biggest thing probably is that I'm new to Hendersonville and this summer and fall being my first go at OHL. Just tho't I'd chime in with my report of a mediocre but small day. Any tips or location ideas appreciated.
Thnx ya'll

You are in the right area Coveman, try Junebug color, black/blue 1/4 oz jigs with rage tail trailers. Once the water starts dropping into the low 60's and down into the 50's you can find some pretty good Tilapia fishing in that general area. The shad will begin to school up in the back end near the marina, a jigging spoon or little george can be your friend.
