Hit Pickwick today with Roy Fraser. We caught around 100 fish each today. It was a mixture of mostly white bass and juvenile stripers....in the 12-13 inch range. We were using UL rods spooled with SOS 2# test line, Dancers, and Trout Magnets. Catching these fish on UL tackle is a ball. Started out at the dam....but that turned into combat fishing as too many boats trying to position in same spot.....so instead of staying there and becoming more angry I headed down river to a breakwater...put the trolling motor in spot lock and caught fish. It was nice to have a section of the river to ourselves with the fish stacked up in the seam of the current break. The wind...tiredness.....and facing the long drive back home had us pull up around 3:00 p.m. and head home. The best is still yet to come with water temps rising.....today the water was 64 degrees. I will hit it again Monday......somewhere.......weather allowing. Life is good!
