Where is every one headed this weekend?Temps are suppose to be up and not too windy.
I need to top some trees but rather go fish somewhere. I am thinking sauger on old hickory or smallmouth on dale hallow.
If you do get out hope you enjoy yourself and be careful. That water is still cold.

I'm going to old hick in the morning. My boat has sat idle in the garage for far too long!!! Not sure if I want to crappie fish or bass fish. I do know that I will not be at the steam plant!!! Lol not big on crowds. If I do bass fish, I'm going to try to catch some small mouth on old hickory. I've never caught one when it was cold, kind of a bucket list thing

I am gonna hit JPP sometime this weekend. Got the same problem Skillet does; the boat is far to dusty.

Skillet I have only caught little smallmouth on hick. My son caught a 17 3/4 last summer. It was a beautiful fish. Shame we don't have more.
As far as priest goes I have not fished it in the winter but have heard it can really produce some nice fish

I've been wanting to try that as well. Are you launching out of Smith Springs? I've heard that's the launch point, and its a mile paddle, but not sure where to go from there.

IMO From Bluegrass to 2 foot is the best area of the lake for the best chance at a decent smallmouth

I'm about fished out.
Fished four days on Priest this week, every day got better and better.
Monday caught 20 hybrids, Wednesday, 24, Thursday 34, and yesterday we quit at Fifty and the fish were still biting.
No telling how many we could have caught if we kept going.
Stopped fishing at 1:00.

I am confined to fishing from the bank. This week has been fantastic for me at JPP. Caught 5 smallies over 6 lbs ea. and numerous in the 3 to 5 lb range. Had 1 large mouth over 8 lbs and about 20 over 5 lbs.
You can use your IMAGINATION as to how many I could have caught if I had a boat.

My biggest on hick is 17" and deezltek has also caught on a little bigger than that on hick. It has some big small mouth I just don't know enough about targeting them yet.
I'm actually leaving my boat at home and jumping in the boat with Tnbronzeback to chase some hybrids!! Good luck to yall
