Didn't get out til 10am, action was slow, but I was catching a few bluegills. Then I pulled out my flyrod and really started catching bluegills. Used a imitation grasshopper fly and it was the ticket along the bank. Then I saw it, an Old Hickory Golden Bonefish ... cast my fly perfectly about a foot in front of him and he raced up and inhaled it. The fight was on! Went 25.5 inches and had a face only a mother could love. :D
Flyrods sure make a good backup plan at times.

LOL Juice!
Bowfisherman do a good job of nuking them from orbit. I think they are a cool fish and are really underestimated as a game fish. Note I say game fish cuz I know they aren't worth a flip to eat! And no, don't give me no carp recipes, its not going to happen. But flip a lure at a feeding carp and see how wary they are. If you can get them to take a bait, you've done well. And once you set the hook, hold on, because they have the power to strip some line!

The few I have caught put up a great fight. I love fishing for Gar, most people want to steer clear of those. Both of those fish just STINK.
