My trolling motor's directional indicator does not light up. It never has and was not designed to light up. Anybody have any tips or tricks of what to add to the indicator so I can see it at night?

Take the top off and look around in there as there may be provisions / pig-tail to put one in

When I was guiding I used a High $$ Moto Guides that did not have Factory illumination (don't know why ??) I can't remember but either BPS or Cabela's sold an after mkt kit ... ... <'TK>< :)

I can't find a kit. There is wiring in there that I could possible connect to but there is not any room to get any kind of a light in there.

I bought some glow in the dark paint that I am going to paint the indicator. It is suppose to glow for 12 hours with a quick light charge. The paint is clear when it dries. For .99 I thought it was worth are try.

I bet you could find a LED and resistor that would fit quite nicely and take no more room than a dime.

Either I am looking in the wrong places for a LED or I can't find one I feel like I could get to work.

I saw at BoxMarx, in the marine section, a small button LED's with 3M sticky tape on the back for a few clams. If you can't find one, I have an extra I'll give you. You will have to put in a fuse though so pick a blade type fuse holder also. I recall it was a 3 amp max fuse for the light, I generally error on the lesser side with fuses on marine applications although.
