Has anyone ever put in below the dam during little to no generation? Just wondering if the ramp drops off or not. I fish down there alot but it's always during generation.
Is it even worth going down there with the low flow?

Man i can't remeber for sure but i am about 90% it does. Its been a long while since i put a boat in there due to kayak fishing now. Pretty sure it did.

If they are not generating there is no need to put in. Just sayin'.

Thanks guys. I normally don't go down there at all unless it's in the 11,000-18,000 CFS range. I have a close friend who is moving out of state soon and is wanting to catch a big Smallmouth. I know from experience they are there.

I wouldnt launch. If its an option, launch above the dam and lock through.
I was down there one day...hendersonville side on the bank. A guy backed too far down, loaded his boat and he couldnt get the trailer over the edge of the ramp. He was getting on the gas too! smoke blazing....he did this for 4-5 seconds a pop and his 5th or 6th attempt he blew a tire on his truck and it sounded like a bomb going off the way it echoed. LMAO!
another guy backed down the ramp and pulled him, trailer and boat back up the ramp, flat truck tire and all.

Lake side it's gonna be this morning. I've seen a few people drop off the ends of ramps before and it usually doesn't end well.

We put in at Lone branch and started fishing right away. The numbers came on spinnerbaits and jigs. But size came on buzzbaits. We didn't get many hits with it but the ones we caught were good. Biggest was close to 5lbs and hit it like a freight train.
All but a few fish came from grass beds.
