Well, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on this unit tonight. I was cruising Cabelas out in Colorado and figured I might as well just do it.....if ya hate, you can sell it or take it back. So here is the box and the size of the transducer, which is smaller than I anticipated....some that I have seen are enormous. I'm gonna install it Saturday and maybe take it out Sunday, but for sure Monday and Tuesday....I will be sure to take video and still pics to post on here.
Pics are too large to add them all....i will upload them individually.

Sorry for the delay guys! i LOVE LOVE LOVE the unit. It doesnt appear to have as many fine tuning adjustments like a HB or Lowrance has, but here is one of the pictures i took. Its hard to take a picture of the screen without those squiggly line (like taking a picture of something on tv) but i think you can get a feel for how the SI clarity is. The sonar is crystal clear and the DI is better than my lowrance elite 7 chirp. Pics to come once i reduce thier size.

Yeah man it's pretty sweet. My biggest struggle was scale....the DI shows a good size tree, good and clear....then the SI unit still shows the tree, but it's like 1/2 the size. I understand why now, but that was hard for me to grasp at first.
I found some tires, what looked like a grocery cart, several pallet structures.
I'm gonna do a test this summer. Have my nephew go someplace shallow and lay on bottom and see how clear it comes out. Lol.
I was kinda harassing some loons trying to catch them on the SI as they dove for bait. Lol....never seen em on screen though. Lol.

We will go out this summer, I can swim down and you can see what I look like on SI. They do use those units to find bodies and cars under water

Yeah im digging the DI on it. The sonar is pretty impressive too. I was testing it with a 16th oz jig and a slab magnet. It showed up clear as day in the 23ft of water i was in. Clear lines up off the bottom and then back down.
I was joking with my wife wednesday night saying if i could sell my elite 7 chirp DI for what i paid for it....i would toss it and get another Garmin for the front. With as much river/jigging i do, seeing your bait is a huge benefit in 30-40ft.

Before selling it we need to get together and let me adjust some settings and see if I can get it to where you like it.

That one is non chirp SI/DI I think. That is the Striker 73sv for 549. They have another one on their website too, the 7sv is 499.99. I might have to sell my Bird and pick one of these up.
