Went out yesterday for a few hours to the west fork of the stones hoping for some crappie and smallies with the water temp at 48 and 4+ foot of visibility I thought it was going to be a great day for crappie but only managed one fish and it wasn't a crappie. I was pitching my 1/16 jig and 2" tripple ripple grub up against bluffs and jigging it down the ledge when this pig slams my lure I knew it was a good one and once i saw what it was in amazment and got lost for a minute until I realized this wasnt no swing fish and I needed my buddy to get the net which of course wasnt ready lol. Ended up measuring as a squeaker 20"er my third TARP fish to date.

That is a great smallmouth. I will say I have never stumbled across any of those up in the river. Good job.

Theres definitely some good smallies up in the far upper parts of the forks ive float fished below Walter hill and nice mill and at the beginning and end of the shoals you'll find some good ones. There is some great float fishing to be had on those two floats in the spring. Its taken me 4 years of fishing here in middle tn to eclipse the 20" mark on smallies, I couldn't tell ya how many ive had within an inch or less of 20" even as tnbronzeback said ive had one that had to be 19 63/64" lol.

Good luck and happy fishing

Really nice coloring on that fish too, congrats on breaking the 20" mark. That's one of my goals this year.
