I hope to go out tomorrow out of Mona or Jefferson. I have never been up as far as east fork. Is it to shallow in the winter to safely go? Has anyone been by it lately? Is the water back down? Is it mud?
Thanks

If you are launching out of Mona, be armed. And have it in your hand when you return to the parking lot.

When I drove over the water the other day it was still up but not dirty. Be very aware of your surroundings at any of those small ramps.

I drive over Jefferson Springs on my way to work. This morning it looked to be quite a bit down from the recent floods. Probably still up a bit from Winter pool but it has cleared up quite a bit.

You mean be carrying? Is it a dangerous area? Just curious.

Mona is where the guy was shot and killed earlier this year. All those little ramps on the river can be sketchy. Not enough traffic to keep people honest.

The boat ramps around JPP are also notorious for vehicle break ins. I never leave anything valuable in there anyway but luckily I haven't returned to a shattered window as of yet. The type of people that frequent those ramps is one of many reasons why I hardly fish JPP anymore and I've been focusing more on Tims Ford. Even if I don't keep valuables in my vehicle, who wants to drive home on a cold winter day with a shattered window? Glass all over the vehicle. Not me.
I'm sure there are occurrences at Tims as well but I have not heard that it is anywhere near the problem at JPP. Go to any JPP ramp and walk along the edges of the parking spaces. You'll see shards of glass all over the place and I'd have to assume most of that is from break ins. That and people dumb enough to think a parking lot is an acceptable place to leave glass bottles.

Just got off water, it was 45 degrees at 9:00 am a little up east fork and very clear. It looked like about 5 ft down from summer pool.
Tsuggs must have caught all the crappie up there. LOL
