Crappie attractors

Decided to make and put out some PVC crappie attractors that should last for quite awhile.

I'll go back in a few days and see if any have taken up residence. If they have, I'll post the coordinates (yeah, right!) so y'all can home in on'em.

Seein as how I was out on the lake, decided to catch some yellow bass for dinner. Headed out to 25 FOW and dropped a South Bend chrome 3/8th ounce Kastaway spoon down to the bottom and started jiggin.

Didn't take long till I had my first 10"er. Stuck around for about 90 minutes before I had to call it a day because of daddy duties. Managed to catch 14 yellows, (11 nice keepers), one 19 inch hybrid, (he swims with the fishes) and one 14 inch white bass, (he was released to the grease).

would have liked to stay longer but there's always tomorrow.

That should work good, hope you sanded the shine off the pipe so the algae will start growing/sticking a bit sooner.

It's not a big deal, but the slick surface of the PVC is harder for the algae and stuff to stick, which draws the bait fish and in turn the crappie. It will just take a bit longer for 'em to be productive, maybe spring time.

I did fish Saturday.
I fished with the Beverly Woods Fishing and Hunting before Kids Foundation.
We took out a group of inner city kids that had never fished before.
We managed to catch, crappie, white bass, yellow bellies and a carp, then we had a cookout at the Seven Points ramp.
I usually donate four trips (minimum) per year to charitable causes.
One to my daughter's school for her homeroom supplies, one to the church, and two or three to Beverly Woods.

Awesome. I fished with Kent a month or two ago, and it sounds like a really good program he has going on.

My friend Tony participated in that too. I was going to help him but was supposed to fish a Farm bureau insurance tournament on old hickory. I found out the tournament was postponed till November around 5 Friday and by that time Tony had his dad fill in for me. They did not do all that well. I think he said they caught maybe 10 or so Crappie. I ended up fishing out of long hunter in the yak and caught 1 bass, 1 14 3/4 hybrid and lost another hybrid when it got tangled in my anchor rope, 4lb test limits your fighting style. I ended catching around 15 crappie with only 3 being keepers. I did find a couple standing trees I never knew of before. The wind was rough on me, I need a nice day of fishing because the last 3 times out have been windy and rainy.
