Cabelas King Kat Championship is on Old Hickory this weekend. Can't wait to see how we do, have spent a lot of time up that way the past month. Who is fishing it from TN? Weigh In is 4:00 Friday and Saturday and will feature prob 50-60 top catfishing teams. Everyone should come out to the weigh in Gallatin at Flippers Bait & tackle

Anyone know any tips to share with fellow TN boy PM :)

Wish I could come check out the weigh-in, but we have the State Championship on Watts Barr this weekend.

142.04 was first place, with second around 126. Said official news release is not ready yet, which may add stuff like biggest fish and species.

We were top 15 after day 1, fished down river from 231 bridge. Day 2 started off bad. Got to ramp and ramp was blocked. Truck had unloaded pontoon boat, snapped hitch and trailer was blocking ramp. Had to go unload at second creek, and just couldn't get on the fish. Most of guys struggled on day 2

Sucks about the ramp. Don't try to put in there during early woodduck season as well, might as well be a semi wreck. What species and sizes were you catching day 1? What kind of areas did you look for, and what techniques did you use?

Friday our success came from control drifting up around 7 mile bluff. We were in deeper water catching fish. the 3 place team was anchored up same area catching flatheads. Area was producing

Saturday we tried same approach out of second creek island and main channel. Thought we found some but guess it was more stripe?? as none were interested in our skipjack. Seem to feeding on bait ball

Awesome screen shots.
Ive heard that stripers and cats inhabit the same deep water holes, just at different parts of the year.
Is there any merrit to that? Ive heard some say stripers dont go "deep" in the winter in the river.
Ive seen big arcs really deep around the steam plant in the dead of winter, so would those be staging stripers or lethargic cats?
