You've got some setup there! Great video, there's nothing else in TN that pulls like those fish do.

What a great post. Not only does Aero320 explain what he is doing, but shows guys they don't have to have a 20 ft CC boat, downriggers, and elaborate bait tanks to troll and CATCH hybrids/stripers on TF in August.

Great Video. I would like to ask what kind of video camera or just using an I-phone.

The camera is a GoPro. I take the small boat when I only have a couple of hours to fish (before or after the workday) and just turn the camera on when I start fishing. The big boat setup is almost the same, I just add two additional side rods. I have stopped using the down riggers for this time of year.

Thanks, you do a great job with it.

Cool video Bob. Love watching the hits and the rods going into their herky jerky bends. That's the fun part of fishing with multiple rods like that, you're reeling in one fish and another rod starts jumping. GOOD TIMES!

The reels are Okuma Convectors mounted to 7' Medium action Ugly Stiks. Main line is 40 pound Power Pro Slick 8 with 20 pound Flouro leaders. I have used the Okuma Magda Pros and they are OK. I have two larger Okuma Cold Waters that I use for Urigs in the winter. I would not purchase them again but would move on up to Shimano Tekotas.

I think the Okuma Convectors are a very good reel for the money. Get the size 20 models.

very nice, thanks for the info. I believe i have the magda (at work right now or i would check haha) and I use 50lb power pro with some mono backing and 20 or 30lb Trilene Big Game mono leader, 40 to 60lb braid seems to fit the magda well. Rod i have is a 7.5' heavey fast Cat Maxx rod from bass pro, mostly for bouncing bait off the bottom and keeping it out of all the snags
i will have to look for a Convector and try it out

Awesome video! I thought that the snap weight clips were expensive! Don't want to go losing any of those tadpoles!
