Sorry for the goofy pictures, I was flying solo today & only had the GoPro. The wind was whipping at 1000MPH on OH today. I started Bass fishing at 2pm & I had my limit within the 1st hour. There was a Bass on every single log I threw my hack attack into. Bored with that I decided to net 2 measly shad and head for deeper water. I was putting around with the Mercury and the HDS Touch not seeing anything until I came up on a school of nice fish. I anchored with the trolling motor and dropped the 1st shad down and BOOM! Before it hit the bottom he was on. Then I put the only shad I had left down & BOOM Again... Man why didn't I have more bait? So much for the Bluebird Skies, Full Moon theory. I have to say it was a Good Day!

I was out scanning the ledges by Cages Bend and Cedar Creek on Friday afternoon. The water had a lot trash and was almost muddy.

Adrian,
The next time you run out of bait, try throwing a five or six inch Ice White fluke on a half ounce jighead.
That has saved many a fishing trip for me when the bait is hard to come by.

It's amazing how well this set up works. If casting I like a scrounger head too.

Nice fish Adrian!

I am back in town and school starts next week for the kiddo so maybe I can join you on one of your solo trips here in the near future. Although with as little fishing as I have done recently, I am not sure if I remember how to tell a bite from a snag :(

We stopped by and picked up some creek chubs yesterday and headed to the channel. For those who asked, here is a screen capture of what we saw and what we caught.

Nice... I was using chubs I caught myself on jpp last night and couldn't catch anything. Granted these chubs were 4/5 inches long but still

That's Odd. We had 3-5" ones and they were tearing them up. Catfish too.

See that's what I thought too... it was the first time I've ever used em because I thought they'd be too big..

Wow. How were you hooking them? We went through the bottom of the mouth out then up and out of a nostril.

I did that and behind the dorsal fin trying to find which way gave the most action. You've given me hope on trying them again the creek I get them from has a couple of schools with at least 300 or so. It takes me about 5 mins to get a full cast net.do u buy them or catch them

I tried the dorsal fin, but they kept snatching them off without swallowing. Went through the mouth and started having better luck. Go figure. We went to station camp creek and netted about 3 dozen in a 5 gallon bucket with a couple of frozen ice packs inside :) We didn't lose any in a 6 hour span.

Yeah its crazy how easy they keep.. thanks for the info I was really debating on using them again. Hopefully I'll have better practice this fall if the stripers run thru jpp again..we'll see lol
