MR. Berk and I went to my cove and caught four bass on a June bug lizard and a black/chart lizard. All in 4' to 6' water and the temp was 56.7 with light winds. It looks like it will be sometime next week before I can get back out so till then good luck and GOD BLESS.............WOODY

I have always used shrimp for cat fish bait but last year I tried the koolaid on it, fantastic!

I am drinking grape Koolaid right now....and you tell me it catches fish??

Would someone explain this trick? If not that is okay. It tastes pretty good right now without shrimp. :D

Interesting, so its like a marinade. We used to soak shrimp in vanilla extract so i am familiar with that much. I may try that one night in the yak drifting with a couple down lines.

Thats pretty cool!
So do you make the koolaid per directions and soak the bait or do you just use it as a "dry rub"?
Its pretty amazing all the different stuff people use to catch catfish...cheese cubes, ivory soap, ect...

peel shrimp.Poor koolaid ( no sugar) on it and add a bit of water..let sit over night is best.you can ever squirt a bit of that Berkley's catfish attractant on it.:)

So does it give you the old tobacco hands stain after you're done fishing it?

I really want to give it a try this summer.

Its funny cause I'll always stop by Walkers bait and tackle after wards and they'll see our hands.."That Dang koolaid again huh?"..lol!

Thanks for the info. I would much rather have red koolade hands then chicken liver salmonela hands! lol.
Those things make my hands itch and swell up something bad! lol.
Im gonna try this next time im targeting the kitties!
thanks again!

Supposedly, hot dogs soaked in Kool Aid also is good cat fish bait.

Nice fish! Chicken liver gets plenty of bites but it's impossible to keep on the hook.

Chicken liver will stay on the hook a lot better if you wrap some sewing thread around it after you bait the hook.

Nice fish! Chicken liver gets plenty of bites but it's impossible to keep on the hook.
Couple tricks that i have use to help with that:
1) get some Tulle fabric and make little roe sacs like salmon fisherman use, that works good, its kinda like soft window screen material. then tie that to the hook.
2) i used to use golf ball rubberbands, find some older Titleist Golf balls that are made of rubber bands for the inside and wrap some of those around the liver. ofcourse if you dont know what kind of golf ball to look for, your gonna be cutting alot of golf balls open, but once you find one, it will last you a while. I learned that little nugget fishing in Tulsa.

It really helps to keep the liver as close to freezing as you can get it while fishing. it keeps a firmer texture and doesnt turn to mush in your hand and flies off the hook upon cast.
