Would there be any drawbacks to using this shelf bracket for $2?
I can attach the top hole to my tracks via Ram ball then mount my Depthfinder bracket on top making totally removable.
Recently took my transducer out of the hull and trying to find a way to use it until I get my new kayak with hopefully new depthfinder setup.

If you need to lift it out of the water to get it away from trees or other things... I know mine gets knocked around when I get shallow. If paddling a long distance it helps to have it out of the water, at least for me.

What he said. I lift mine out a lot because of rocks or if I have to get near shore for any reason and don't want to bang into things. The Liberator is awesome.

To be honest, I have the liberator and I am not a big fan at all, I'd love to shoot through my hull. The transducer drags to much on the side, and if I paddle fast, it tends to bend up.

What he said. I would be fine with through the hull also.

Thanks for the points of view guys.
I like the thru hull too and have tried it twice. So hard to get it right with no air between. Then removing and cleaning lexan off is no peach either.

Great points with the added drag, and not being able to move it quickly if needed.
I use the RAM Transducer arm and really like it. There is some drag, but not a whole lot, and it's easily moveable.
I have an extra RAM arm if you would like to try it.
My next boat has the built in pod for the battery and head unit, if my battery will fit in the POD.

Yes I do find it very annoying when the arm bends up and eventually comes out of the water. I've found that if I tighten the nuts before I head out, that won't happen. The problem is I usually forget to do that so if I'm moving at a faster speed to troll crankbaits, it's an issue. For the convenience of using the slide tracks and being able to take the transducer out of the water easily, I like it though.

I use mine "through hull" but I too had problems with air bubbles or something in the duct seal. So I made a small dam out of duct seal and put the transducer in it. Each time I go to the lake, I just put some lake water in the dam and it works fine. And the lake water is the correct temp too.

I used the Duct Seal for a while also, and it worked ok. You will not get accurate water temps though.

Interesting. Thanks for the idea.
I think tonight I am just gonna pull it up through the scupper to flush with the bottom of the boat's contour. The use my scupper plug to wedge cable and all in place. In trials it does move once wedged. I am not traveling far or too fast tonight basically all I need is depth.

Yeah some version of the feelfree lure in winter camo. I have settled on that much. If i go 13.5 it will have a pod for the transducer but 11.5 wont. Will be a new unit in the works too at that point.
Let me roll it around and i may just have you put it in the black pak. LoL.
Thanks for the offer!
