Looking for some assitance here guys. I have the Humminbird 561 fishfinder. Transom Mount Transducer. Last time on the water my brother ran the boat too far up the trailer and snapped the mount. at first i thought it was just cracked, after further investigation this weekend while cleaning up the boat i discovered the only thing actually holding it on was the paint.
Ive scoured the internet and nobody can get it to me by this weekend without paying an arm and a leg in shipping.
So here is a long shot.....anybody have a "spare" transducer mount That would work for this unit that i could purchase from them?
I dont mind re-wiring and buying a trolling motor mount but that means i wouldnt have depth while running the big motor since the trolling motor would be stowed.
Either way, come hell or high water the boat is getting wet....lol.
New trailer tires, new bow mount trolling motor.....ive got the itch something BAD!
thanks guys!

Can you post a picture of what you have currently?

I broke mine off on G ville a couple years ago. Grass got caught around it and when I took off it pulled the transducer loose and broke the bracket. I used 2 part epoxy and put it back on the rear of the boat.

Thats close to what i need. I dont have a picture of what i have as im in nashville and my boat is in lebanon. the only difference i see is the one that came with the unit, is just one piece where it looks like the one you posted is 2 pieces, if im looking at it right.
Several places have it for ordering on-line, but with the rush delivery, i would be half-way to another complete transducer assembly for my unit.
Thanks for your help though!

That was my first thought too, but that wasnt an option, it broke off the main stems, and also the 2 holes that hold the bracket to the boat (where you use the allen wrech to adjust the angle) so i dont think i had any chance of caking it with epoxy. LOL.

You have a live well?

Fill the livewell with water then drop it in there positioned upright and pointed forward and you're fishin. Will lose temp but should work fine only drawback could be if the boat is aluminum but not sure if that would affect it.

I do have a livewell, and it is an aluminum boat. i might have to give that a try just to see how it works.
Thanks

I know it works when not moving at speed in a fiberglass boat. People used to put them in plastic bag of water then tape up the top and set the bag on the floor of the boat instead of hard mounting. Old School portable.

You can get pretty creative the key is eliminating air trapped in the transducer beam.

Just to get me thru the weekend i might reach for the zip ties, hose clamps and black tape on the trolling motor and hope for the best!

There you go man, rig it up!

Honestly, zip tied to a coke bottle floating along side the boat would work too and function....not at speed though. :p Functionality is all you need leave the purdy stuff for KVD. :D

Crisis averted! i opted for the side mount Johnny Ray transducer mount. It was $13 cheaper than the humminbird brand bottom mount. Not the route i prefered to go but until my new transom bracket comes in the mail, this will get the job done im sure. . Was eyeballing the humminbird onyx too! ;-) might make a good one to mount up front.
Looks like i better pack my rain gear for sunday now! lol
