So... Jimmy promised me an afternoon of hybrid slaying...... No slaying but a great afternoon on the water. We caught 3 largemouth and 2 hybrids. I think we both missed a total of 10 fish on flukes and jerk baits. We started to get into a little top water bite at the end of the day. I caught my 22" on top water and had two other fish come up and miss the spook twice. It's impressive how much those fish fight for their size. Jimmy thought I was hamming it up with my fish but dang can they pull drag. His fish put up a good fight too.

Haha I didn't promise! It was a fun time indeed though. Hopefully we can get on them one good time like I had last weekend before it's over. Not much time left! Then it's back to the boring bass fishing with frogs in the thick stuff.

Nice job guys. It was an awesome weekend.
Me and Chris went this weekend as well. I caught a couple but short from where I needed so no bother of pics. Also caught some whites, crappie and gills but all short for KW. Chris managed a couple or three overs on hybrids and several overs on whites for pts so it wasn't a complete wash.
I am in a rut 4 trips now caught fish no pts....

Can you fish Friday? I have my eye on two coves, which I'll keep secret, that I have a strong hunch are great Hybrid spots and don't get fished much. If all goes well, I'll be back in town and plan to hit those spots Friday morning, you're welcome to join.

I can't get away from work weekdays. Tours are starting and business is picking up. I appreciate the offer though Jimmy. My fish will come as summer is usually my "season" so to speak.

I took my boy out yesterday evening for about an hour not far from Goose Island and we hooked up twice in about the first half dozen casts but couldn't stay on the fish. Both bites came off of my new Rapala Subwalk and the second bite broke me off which was a bummer. The wind was tough but it was a lot of fun putting the kid on his first hybrid!

Awesome!! Always nice to see the kids involved. I got the yak out before sunrise this morning. Caught one 21.5" striper and about a 17" hybrid. Not near the awesome hybrid fishing I had a couple weeks ago, I just couldn't locate a school of them. I caught assorted crappie, whites, and a Smallie as well. I'm trying another spot tomorrow morning.

The subwalker is great for catching hybrids when they are pushing topwater baits and just won't eat topwater. A couple of times I have wore the hybrids out (big ones to) on a subwalker.
