Crappie been hitting all week but in full swing now. Water temp was 64 yesterday and warming up fast. Been finding them everywhere from 3-20 ft, with both jigs and trolling cranks. Got this bunch yesterday which included several 14 inchers.

And oh yeah -the "Night Crew" loves the leftovers after filleting. Sure beats having a stinky trash can.

Well, i am no expert but here is what works for me.

I cast the jigs in shallower water (10 ft or less). Big fan of the crappiemax jigs from Basspro. No float, just cast and reel slowly.

In deeper water I troll the cranks at 1.5mph on the electric. I like shad imitations such as Bandits, Raps, or the Academy knock offs (my favorite).

Just checked - I called them crappiemaxx jigs, but actually I am using their "paddle tail minnow" in 1/8 ounce.

This is my favorite trolling lure. Ghost Shad or Diamond Dust. (Thats no secret btw - you will never find them in stock locally so they have to be ordered.)

These work great too, and run a little deeper. but its $7 every time you lose one.

And of course the Bandits, but they are a little larger and more expensive as well.

Magic depth seems to be having your lure run around 10-12 ft. Find scattered stumps/brush at that depth up to 20 ft and you are good to go March through Oct, Besides just crappie you will catch everything - and I mean everything - in the lake.

I only fish from Long Hunter up to Fall Creek. Have never caught squat in the lower end of the lake so I just stick with what I know.

BTW- I got all my crappie info here on the forum too. :)
