Fished the area yesterday afternoon and couldn't figure out what was going on with the water. It looked like coffee with bad creamer in it. I'm guessing it is some sort of algae bloom, but I've fished Priest for 30+ years and never seen water this color. Had to go all the way to Hobson Pike to get away from it. The fish seemed to be active on the surface but visibility was zero. Anyone ever heard of the lake turning over in the spring?

I noticed that when we were out there last Sunday. I did find some clear water around some of my good Crappie spots...but no Crappie. But the few Crappie we did catch was in the dingy water. I figured that dirty water was warming quicker.
One of the 4 keepers we caught had a bloody tail and peck fins.

It was muddy last weekend, but I managed to catch 27 crappie deep.

This happened last year around the lower end. Coffee water for 2-3 days. Locals said it was a turnover

Turnover happens spring and fall with the spring being more extreme
