Sounds like. I love it when I pull up at Pickwick and see those things.....pretty good bet the whites will be in there thick as thieves.

A friend of mine fished below Wheeler dam yesterday. He reported water temp of 37 degrees and major shad kill. He said most dead were 4"to 6". Gulls, cormorants and white pelicans by the thousands.

They seem to roost there most of the time.

Yea, they stay there all winter. That island would be a good place for a mega brushfire.:D

They were below Center Hill dam today while we fished the Caney for a few hours. Oh, and we did not see one blowup nor did we have one fish so much as follow in that time.

Yep, we fished the Caney and did not catch a single fish! Headed up to the lake to finish the morning off and ended up catching one smallmouth vertical jigging a grub. Those are fun fish to catch, it's like playing a video game watching them chase it on sonar. 18".

Pretty smallie man.

GSP was like creamered coffee and not overly willing to give up fish. Managed to catch a couple striper and a walleye but that's it.

Nice smallmouth. I spent 10hrs over on Kentucky Lake checking water clarity, ice, water temps, and depths.

Yea yesterday was an awful fishing day. Still had a good time with some good fishing buddies but I couldn't believe that 5 of us couldn't even buy a stocker trout in the Caney on Trout Mags. Normally the 8" trout become annoying you catch so many. Then we packed up to try Center Hill and was more of the same, I couldn't even get a bluegill out from under a boat dock on TM's. That sure was a pretty Smallie he caught. We got excited thinking he may have cracked a pattern we could try but to no avail. This weekend just had some tough fishing.

To make things better, it's going to get down to 5 degrees Thursday night to keep the water nice and cold this weekend so it should make for some more challenging fishing.
